The firts Fisker Karma is off to Leonardo di Caprio - without the leggy passenger
The Fisker Karma has been on its way for what seems a very long time. But finally, Henrik Fisker’s eponymous company is delivering what it’s been promising, and the first recipient later this month of the Karma will be Leonardo di Caprio. Henrik Fisker has a few more famous faces in his 3,000 order bank including Al Gore (former vice President and the man with the disingenuous climate-change campaign to his credit) and Colin Powell (best know for the Gulf war and being the only man called Colin who can’t pronounce his own name).
A NEW COMPANY is claiming its new design of battery could see future electric cars powered by batteries no bigger than the current AA size. LipraLoof Techologies Ltd, a new start-up, has teamed up with City Car Club to trial the new technology in its fleet of vehicles. The new batteries use a complex mix of metal hydrates to create a quad, or 4A battery, which produces far more power than a standard battery.
Jaguar has announced that four wheel drive versions of the Jaguar XJ and Jaguar XF will be available – but not in the UK. Jaguar has long bemoaned the lack of a 4WD platform for their cars, and even blamed such a lack of flexibility for the delay in launching the XF Sportbrake. We’ve been expecting Jaguar to reveal a 4WD version of the XJ for a while (especially as the new Range Rover utilises the same platform) but we didn’t expect a 4WD XF until the next generation XF launches in a couple of years.
